The fish was a secret symbol used by the first Christians when they were being persecuted for their faith.
The first letters of the following phrase – Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour – make ICHTHUS in the original language, and ICHTHUS means "fish".
The symbol is no longer secret, but it is sometimes used by Christians today to identify themselves and their faith. The Bible has a lot to say about fish, fishing and fishermen, which we feel is another helpful emblem for what TYPO is about.
