Serving young people in and around Tiptree

TYPO are looking for a Sessional Youth Worker

TYPO is an inter-church charity formed in 2011 by the Parish Church of St Luke’s, St John Houghton Roman Catholic Church and Tiptree United Reformed Church to develop Christian youth work in the village, the schools and surrounding areas. TYPO employs a full-time youth worker who has been instrumental in establishing a number of outreach activities among the area’s young people, in addition to offering chaplaincy to students at Thurstable Secondary School. The work is predominantly among un-churched young people aged 9-18.

Owing to the growth and development of the work, we now require an experienced person to work in collaboration with our youth worker, providing assistance on a sessional basis to some of our group activities. It may involve working alongside the youth worker himself or, depending upon experience and qualification, leading activities with the help of volunteers. Some evening and weekend working will be required.

This post is for one academic year starting in September 2017, and is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

£9.50 ph - £13.25 ph depending on qualification and experience.
